Individual Factors of CBT Underlying Success
(I-FOCUS)
I-FOCUS is a current study at the University of Washington (UW) that aims to explore the effect of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in individuals with Social Anxiety Disorder and Body Dysmorphic Disorder. Individuals enrolled in this program will take part in a 12-week CBT treatment program. The study also consists of clinician assessments, fMRI scans, self-report assessments for which you will be compensated.

If you experience any of the following, you may be eligible to participate in our study!
- Anxiety and avoidance in social situations such as speaking to authority figures, going to parties, or initiating conversations with others
- Significant concern about your appearance such as skin, hair, or nose
What is CBT?
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT has been shown to be an effective form of therapy that helps patients learn strategies to combat unwanted thoughts and behaviors. CBT will be administered by graduate students at the University of Washington who are trained through the UW CALM Clinic for Anxiety, Traumatic Stress, and Obsessive Compulsive Related Disorders.
